Chapter 1.6: Last Christmas

Braylee and Holden waved good-bye to their home.  It was the place where their friendship and romance began and they would cherish it forever.  But it was time for bigger things in the big city.

After hunting for the perfect place the couple decided on the large apartment available for lease at near Medina Studios. The lost had Great Acoustics which was perfect for Braylee and her music career.

They were so happy to be taking such a big step together.  Everything felt so right.
They met their new neighbour Salim, he welcomed them to the building.  Braylee and Holden liked him.

Christmas was approaching and the couple decided to lash out and get a large Christmas tree in preparation.  Once they moved everything in their house they celebrated by having a delicious roast dinner.

Braylee was very excited to finally have the room and money to purchase a grand piano!  She had always wanted one.  She was excited to be able to sing and write songs on it.

Holden was excited about the large walls that he was able to use for his movie posters.  Holden grew up with the dream of becoming an actor.

It was always just a fantasy but now he was hear in the big city, should he give it a go?  Maybe that was a decision for another day.  He had something else on his mind with Christmas approaching.

Braylee was aware of Holdens dream of Hollywood and beyond and hoped that one day he could give it a crack.  It was all up from here.  Moving to San Myshuno was the best decision ever made of their careers.  They would now both finally be able to focus 100 percent on them until they made it.

Christmas eve morning approached and it was snowing.  Holden gave Braylee a beautiful pair of gloves that she could wear outside as an early gift.

The two then went outside to enjoy the snow.

They ended up at the Snow Festival, enjoying hot coco and indulging  on hearty street food.

After a big day of activities they finally got home and Holden wanted Braylee to come over to the Christmas tree.  Braylee said to Holden 'another present?  You are to good to me'.

He brought her in close and kissed her passionately.

Holden told Braylee he loved her placing his hand on his heart.

He suddenly dropped down to one knee and asked Braylee to marry him.  Braylee was beyond shook, she was not expecting this at all.

Braylee's first reaction to the proposal was to close the box.  As bad as she felt she told Holden that she was not ready and it was not the right time, they had just took a big step and marriage would be another big step too soon.

Holden was very disheartened and embarrassed.  He told Braylee that he thought she would want him to propose sooner rather them later.

Braylee let Holden know that she wants to marry him but not yet, she had much more to do with her career before she even wanted to think about that.

This just left Holden more confused and disheartened then before.  He wasn't getting any younger and his desire for children was even further out of his reach,

Braylee grabbed Holden and brought him in for a hug.  She promised him that she would give him a family one day (she was the first generation of a new legacy after all lol).

Holden felt a bit better. He was happy to know that children was in his future with Braylee after all.

While she had vacation time off work, Braylee played and played and played.

While Holden frequently had dinners alone. He really felt alone and a tad depressed.  He decided to join a talent agency for acting. he would see how that went.

It was now New Years Eve and Braylee and Holden invited over Carter, Ulrike and their son Rowan for a dinner party.  It was not only New Years Eve but it was also Holden's birthday.  He was going to be aging into an elder.

Braylee felt really bad about being MIA lately with Holden especially after the rejected proposal a week ago.  While she is so motivated to do the best she can with her career shes realised that she needs to find a balance and also focus on her relationship as she loves Holden and does not want to lose him.

Braylee decided to make him a big lunch with all the best bits - she knew how much he loved a good roast.

Braylee also brought him a gift.

The love and affection that Braylee was showing Holden meant to much to him at this time.

Braylee brought him a clay mould that was from a Amazonian swamp - the rarest type of clay that was the best for sculpting.

Ulrike and her family finally arrived and Holden greeted her.

Ulrike wanted Holden to know that she was sorry to hear about how the proposal went down and that she knows that it will all happen eventfully.

They hugged. And she wished him a Happy Birthday.

Ulrike was also pregnant with baby number 2!

Rowan was now a toddler--walking around and causing a ruckus.

Holden and Rowan always had a strong bond and they enjoyed playing with each other,

Braylee on the other hand had not spent that much time with her god son.  So she made the effort to try and make a connection.

Rowan found Braylee really funny and the two also enjoyed singing songs together.  Rowan told Braylee that she was a good singer.  This one on one time spent with Rowan made Braylee realise that she was good with kids and that maybe a kid around the house wouldn't be so bad sooner rather then later.

Hold loved having his close friends over.  They joked for hours about the good old days when Carter and Holden lived together.

Now it was time for Holden to age up and have his cake.  They all sung happy birthday (Braylee on key and with feeling).

And like that Holden had grey hair and back pain--welcome to elderhood.

Braylee was now re thinking everything.  If she was an elder--it would be too late for kids,  she was beginning to understand that while she had plenty of time for her work, life is too short sometimes.  Braylee promised her self that this would be the year.
